Help with starting a night and settling up. These answers describe upcoming Crew 1.0.8. The current App Store version is 1.0.7; the receipt-photo reader and Safety controls are not yet public. Email us if you need help.
Sign in with Apple, name your crew, and invite friends with its join code or link. Choose which members are attending before you start the night.
Open the crew and tap Start Night. Pick the attendees, then choose a willing, sober designated driver. Crew can notify attendees who allow notifications.
The free wheel picks from eligible attendees. Premium weights use saved driver history. In 1.0.8, you can step out before a spin; an alcohol entry also removes you from the driver list. A veto needs a majority of attendees. A wheel pick still needs a willing, sober driver.
Joining a crew does not add someone to a night that already started. Include them when you choose the next night’s attendees. An attending night initiator or crew owner can change the driver among the current eligible attendees.
Location sharing runs during an active night with your permission. The server keeps your latest position in memory, with no location history. Ending the night clears it. Leaving the crew stops sharing; blocks hide location between the affected members.
In 1.0.8, choose another Crew member who shares a crew with you and set a check-in hour. If you miss that night’s check-in, Crew records an alert for them and attempts a push. It does not send your location or an SMS. Blocks and crew membership can prevent delivery. You can turn Guardian off in Settings; it is not an emergency service.
Send a short update to the night’s attendees, such as “Where are you?” or “Need a ride.” Social blocks and review holds apply. A ride request appears in the selected driver’s pickup queue.
You can change Crew’s notification permission in iOS Settings. Pings can still appear inside Crew even when push notifications are off.
Uploads are pending until a current crew owner approves them. The uploader has a private preview; an owner may need to wait for an older upload link to expire. A private review copy protects approved bytes from later writes to that older link. Media is hidden from shared albums after 30 days, and the existing hourly cleanup retries storage removal. Chosen complaint evidence is held privately for PLAYRIOT review. You or the night initiator can remove an upload. Owner review and report controls are in upcoming 1.0.8.
A completed night keeps its stops, driver, receipts and payment confirmations. Photo access follows current review and block rules. Your private drink entries remain your own.
Crew Wrapped reads your crew’s saved nights for a chosen year. It includes sessions, stops, receipt totals, driver counts and approved visible photos. Drink entries are your own. Wrapped stays free; there is no scheduled December release.
Open a completed night in History and use Share to make a recap card. Check the card before sharing it outside Crew.
In upcoming 1.0.8, Premium includes the weighted DD wheel and a receipt-photo reader whose items you check before saving a bill. Manual bills, Guardian, history and Crew Wrapped stay free. The paywall shows the products and local prices Apple makes available.
A member with valid Premium can share access with members of the crews they currently belong to. Leaving that crew ends its shared access for you unless you have your own purchase or another qualifying crew.
Open Settings on your device → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Crew → Cancel. You can also tap Manage Subscription inside the app.
Open Settings → Delete Account. Crew requests Apple sign-in revocation and removes your profile, memberships, private drinks, devices, Guardian and block records. Shared nights and bills remain with opaque participant IDs. Uploads enter a retry queue after outstanding upload links expire. Chosen complaint evidence and coded purchase-ownership records may remain as explained in our Privacy Policy. Cancel an Apple subscription separately.
Email us with your iOS version, app version (Settings → About), and what happened. Keep private crew details out of screenshots unless they are needed to explain the issue.
